The city of Nador was alive with excitement as the 13th edition of the International Festival of Cinema of Shared Memory commenced this evening under the theme “Memory of the Sky and Earth.” This annual cultural event has become a key fixture in Morocco’s artistic calendar, drawing filmmakers, artists, and creatives from both within the country and abroad to the “City of Professions” for its grand opening ceremony.
Running from November 5th to 10th, the festival serves as a unique platform blending cinema with human heritage, focusing on themes of collective memory and the promotion of cultural coexistence and dialogue. The festival’s theme, “Memory of the Sky and Earth,” carries deep symbolic meaning, emphasizing the shared cultural heritage and the importance of preserving collective memory across generations.
In his opening speech, Festival Director Abdel Salam Boutib highlighted the significance of this year’s edition, explaining the thoughtful choice of the theme as a reflection of the profound connection between history and humanity.
